WHAT ROLE DOES ART PLAY IN YOUR LIFE?
The role that art plays in my life is one of liberation. It gives me the capability to free the things within me that hold me captive mentally, emotionally and spiritually despite my lack of physical freedom. My daughter is a key inspiration as well because I strive to create art in which she can see herself represented in. When I create art, I ask myself, “Will she see herself in this piece?” “Does this piece honor her skin?”

IDENTITY STATEMENT
The way that I see myself is very much in line with the way that I want to be seen, as an educated Black Queen striving to achieve my destiny. As a woman using every day to rectify the mistakes I’ve made and create new avenues for restoration and growth. As a mother who despite the pain of the distance is trying to make the most of this time and nurture my child to be greater than me. As a follower of Christ who is just trying to share His light.
