ARTIST STATEMENT

[Art is] therapy. It takes me away from the prison institution and its drama. It helps me understand that I have a unique potential to create a dream. Art taught me to become very patient in life and enjoy my work.

What inspires you to create your art?

The dog done in pastel is a photograph from my art teacher Mr. Mike Lambrecht, from MCF-St. Cloud, it was one of his challenges for me, he wanted the best of me, he taught me everything I do with art today, and told me not to give up. The more I do, the more he believed I will be the best, so I did the dog just to show to him that I will never give up. I thank him for everything he did for me.
