Inspiration:
As a white man with many, many Black friends in prison and in the world, I felt disgusted, hurt then rage on May 25th. As I took a run to clear my thoughts, the Holy Spirit spoke to my heart. “You must do the portrait of this man and it must be for justice then peace for all African Americans. Enough is Enough!

What role does art play in your life?

I enjoy many different mediums but have seemed to master the technique using charcoal.

Over the years [art] has become a positive outlet. I used to only draw or paint when incarcerated. Today it has become a full time hobby and passion when I’m on the street and to inspire the youth with my craft.

When drawing a portrait it’s my goal to capture the realistic essence or personality of my subject when the finished portrait makes the customer smile then it makes me feel good and that inspires me.
