We're proud to share that one of our artists, Lennell Maurice Martin, authored the powerful article "Redefining Discipline" for Jobs for the Future (JFF). Drawing from his 22 years of incarceration at Minnesota Correctional Facility–Stillwater, Martin reclaims the meaning of discipline—not as punishment, but as focus, self-control, and perseverance. Through his journey in the Transformation and Reentry Through Education and Community (TREC) program, he earned both an associate's and a bachelor's degree, demonstrating how education can transform lives and carceral culture.
