Inspiration:

There is no "one way" to go through personal growth. There are ways that are easy to me adn some that are not. Some we don't want to go down adn some we are not ready for. In the end, as long as your path choices lead you to a person you are truly proud to be, you are on the correct personal growth path for you.

What role does art play in your life?

Art helps me slow down and has become a daily fixture in my life. I let my emotions inspire me; it reminds me emotions are meant to be felt and are OK.

Artist statement:

I have no clue what I'm doing when it comes to art. When I started this class, I could do a stick figure and a tree. Now, I have an idea of what I'm doing but it is not a clear picture. I'm still learning about my artistic abilities and I may not ever get into a museum and that's ok. I don't have aspirations to get to that level - I never will - because I'm just enjoying what I'm doing. If you would have asked me to join an art class six month ago I don't know if I would have joined. I struggle with perfectionism and being in a vulnerable position with art, when compared to others in the group, looks like it may make the fridge was unthinkable to me. However, this class was offered at the right time and I was encouraged to take the course. Now, I'm find with showing my imperfect artwork and being exposed to criticism because my artwork is OK, and so am I.
