Inspiration:

This piece was about connecting with myself and how amazing it is to have found my self-worth and how I can truly love myself. It was not always the case that I did and today I can honor myself and truly love the woman I am today.

What role does art play in your life?

Art plays a huge part in my life. I can really express myself through my art. What it has done for me - I have so much more peace and it helps me to fully be transparent in my paintings.

Artist statement:

I feel that I can create so many different things. I know that even though I have a 198 year sentence that I have the ability to be authentic in my paintings. Never did I know that I could draw or paint and now I am excited to see other things I can draw and paint. It's all about how I feel on the inside and how I can put a lot of energy into my paintings. I always have something inside of me that helps me be creative and I truly believe that every single person is an artist. I just was able to engage my inner self to help me be productive and also there is always a message I am trying to say.
