Inspiration:

Connecting with Love is about a mother and baby elephant together as it really had me thinking. Elephants greet each other with their trunks to communicate like we do with a handshake and these beautiful animals get separated a lot and so I wanted to draw them together.

What role does art play in your life?

Art plays a huge part in my life. I can really express myself through my art. What it has done for me - I have so much more peace and it helps me to fully be transparent in my paintings.

Artist statement:

I feel that I can create so many different things. I know that even though I have a 198 year sentence that I have the ability to be authentic in my paintings. Never did I know that I could draw or paint and now I am excited to see other things I can draw and paint. It's all about how I feel on the inside and how I can put a lot of energy into my paintings. I always have something inside of me that helps me be creative and I truly believe that every single person is an artist. I just was able to engage my inner self to help me be productive and also there is always a message I am trying to say.
